Kindel Wireless Reading Device (6″ Display, Global Wireless, Latest Generation)

At 10.2 ounces, Kindel reader is lighter than a typical paperback and as thin as most magazines. Barely a third of an inch in profile, you’ll find Kindel reader fits perfectly in your hands. Kindel reader is as easy to hold and use as a book. We designed it with long-form reading in mind. When reading for long periods of time, people naturally shift positions and often like to read with one hand. Kindle’s page-turning buttons are located on both sides, allowing you to read and turn pages comfortably with one hand from any position. The page-turn buttons now flex inward to prevent any accidental page turns when picking up or handling Kindle. Kindel reader has a new easy-to-use 5-way controller, enabling precise on-screen navigation for selecting text to highlight or looking up words. Kindel reader is completely wireless and ready to use right out of the box–no setup, no cables, no computer required. With Kindle’s 25% longer battery life, you can read on a single charge for up to 4 days with wireless on. Turn wireless off and read for up to 2 weeks. Battery life will vary based on wireless usage, such as shopping the Kindle Store and downloading content. In low coverage areas or in 1xRTT only coverage, wireless usage will consume battery power more quickly. Whispernet utilizes Amazon’s optimized technology plus Sprint’s national high-speed (3G) data network to enable you to wirelessly search, discover, and download content on the go. Your books and periodicals are delivered via Whispernet in less than 60 seconds. And unlike WiFi, you never have to hunt for a hotspot.

Customer reviews

There are two words I would use to describe Kindel reader: LOVE IT. There are several reasons why I bought Kindle Wireless Reading device. First, my husband is an avid reader and he had bought so many books over the years and we just don’t have much space left for books in our house. This is a great way to save space. Second, we are doing our part to protect the environment by saving trees. Last, it is cheaper to by Kindle books than regular books in the bookstore. The Kindle books selection is not bad, you can buy any of the bestsellers. It is easier to purchase Kindle books from a computer than from Kindle device especially if you had set up an account with Amazon. One of the nice things about Kindle is you can adjust the font size of the letters. I haven’t figure out if you can get books in different languages (for example: French, German, Spanish, etc…). I would think it will be available soon in foreign countries as well. The only thing I wish it comes is a case for Kindle to prevent scratching or dust. For the price of $299 USD, it only comes with Kindle device and a charger. The case costs additional $39.- up. Well, I had just found out the price of Kindle had dropped to $249-, maybe it will be a holiday special!

Without a doubt, 5 stars 5
This is one of the coolest products I have ever seen. I can’t put it down. The one thing I was worried about was eye strain, after the first hour or so of reading last night I realized I was experiencing less eye strain than reading a regular book. I am so happy with this product.
I highly recommend this product to all who love to read.

Must-Have Device for Readers 5
The Amazon Kindle is a must-have device for anyone that loves to read. The text quality is amazing and looks just like a page of text in a paperback. You can adjust the font size to match your needs and preferences. The navigation is easy to use, although highlighting and moving the cursor in text takes a little while to get used to. More than anything, I like being able to enjoy the book without having to worry about the pages getting in the way. No more losing my place, because the Kindle remembers exactly where I was.

The Kindle has been perfect for my apartment-dwelling lifestyle. Space in apartments is at a premium and I just didn’t have room for all of my books. There were some that I loved, but had to get rid of, because I simply didn’t have the space for them. That is no longer true with the Kindle. I was able to find about half the books in my library on the Kindle Store. Purchasing the Kindle versions means I can free up space and will always have access to my collection.

The text-to-speech technology is somewhat rudimentary right now. I laugh when Kindle tries to pronounce Obama’s name in my newspapers or when it reads the authors name, “vertical bar, three-hundred sixty-two pages”. I know this technology is in its infancy, however, and great things are to come. The technology does make it convenient for me to get through the newspapers when I’m driving and can’t take the time to read.

Speaking of newspapers, one of the best things about the Amazon Kindle for me is the ability to get a daily copy of the San Francisco Chronicle delivered on my Kindle. I live in Cincinnati, so news from California is kind of hard to come by. Whenever, I’m out there, I enjoy reading the Chronicle and now I can continue that wherever I am.

The download time on books is lightning fast. I can purchase a book and literally in less than a minute I am reading it. I had my doubts before I started using the Kindle, and perhaps I am just in a good spot, but so far its worked out this way.

I think the Kindle is going to revolutionize how we read. It is an amazing device that is well worth the investment if you are an avid reader. Do yourself a favor and try it out!
